Mutate Britain

Public Wear Blog - Arts and Crafts

( 5 Votes )

Over the past weekend, by pure chance, I was lucky enough to stumble across a cool temporary exhibition of random street art and what I like to call more “alternative art”. (I am not too sure if the event organisers would like that term). However the event was right near where Public Wear operates and it was good to see some new type of art being expressed in the area.

However, it was also really cool to see how they have used so called ‘dead space' in an urban city (in this case it was under a bridge) to create an exhibition. Even more impressive where several sculpture, if you want to call them that as they were also vehicles, that was made from recycled vehicle parts. Also at the show was lots of cool graffiti, prints, paintings, interesting mirror frames, strange plants and other strange and wonderful things.

For those who would like to see this event simply go the corner of Acklam and Portobello Road in London , UK . The event is running from 9 October until 25 October.

Entrance is £1 before 6pm, which afterwards it is £2 or £3, I believe this is because there is live music to enjoy.

More details can be found on their website: One foot in the Grove

I have taken some photos that you can see below. Hope you enjoy!
Sorry the quality is not too good as these were taken with my Camera Phone (poor planning :( )
