G Reader (pronounced Gee-Reader) is a software application that can notify you of new emails in your inbox. It currently only supports GMail accounts. It sits on your system tray and constantly checks your GMail account. If new emails are received a customisable 'Agent' or character will speak to you and inform you of the emails. The announcement will include: Who sent you the email and the Subject line. This program requires the .NET Framework 1.1 or higher to work. Please refer to the notes below.
All actions can be performed through the parrot icon in the system tray. Right click on the icon to see the menu. GReader is able to connect via a proxy. This is configured via the menu mentioned before.
